Hello, and welcome to my eponymous OverMachoGrande.com –which is THE HOME of laser therapy for hair loss, do it yourself laser devices, and ALL THINGS LLLT! This site is going to grow to encompass even more than the topic of “lasers for hair loss” in the near future, though –it’s going to provide info on ALL the wondrous things that LLLT can do for the entire body!

So, who am I? I’m John Christian, and I am part of the original group that popularized the idea of the “Laser Helmet” (vs. the underpowered hand held laser devices) in hair loss forums in the mid/late-2000’s. This was the largest mass-experiment of laser devices ever seen (and it was all PUBLIC!). I came up with the Laser Messiah as a result of this –which is the only device in existence that followed all of the KEY CONCEPTS that we determined through trial and error were the absolute best, and in-line with PROFESSIONAL DEVICES costing many thousands of dollars! …except, of course, YOU OWN IT, and don’t have to sign up for costly laser clinics (or travel there three times a week, which sounds like an absolute nightmare!).

There are two Laser Messiahs now –the “Laser Messiah I” (which YOU can build with my free instructions!), and the WORLD RENOWNED “Laser Messiah II” (which is the world’s greatest, most customizable laser helmet that I BUILD for you! …and you can even add more diodes to it later if you want to!). The Laser Messiah II has continued to evolve to be the absolute best with better hardware, more efficiency, and, of course, the PULSEDRIVE!

Also, I have learned things about the so-called “hair loss industry” that would make even the toughest person cringe!!! Until this site was online and I was active in the forums, it was “open season” on unsuspecting hair loss suffers, and I will continue to make it my mission to expose these costly, terrible devices that charge a premium (and just DO NOT scientifically “add up” -not to mention they don’t give great results [except in “paid for” studies, of course!]).

Get to know these mass-produced devices out there --you'll find that with one of the most "popular" out there (should be tarred and feathered, not popular!) you will be paying more than half the price of my 300 diode helmet up there in the picture for only TWENTY ONE DIODES! That's not a trick. I'm not pulling the wool over your eyes or comparing apples to oranges or anything like that --300 vs. 21!!! I'm not doing "funky math" like yet another mass-produced device manufacturer does by being BLATENTLY WRONG on their power calculations by a factor of TEN! TEN!!! They say their device has enough power to get into the "window of energy" for best results, but it only is a fraction of what they say when you do the math, and it FALLS SHORT of getting into that window of energy by more than THREE TIMES!!!

I'm Not Alone --I have brilliant people at my disposal!

I’m not alone in this, either... I am lucky to have a few great friends in this field -too many to mention here, but I’ll name drop a couple! First, Brian Simonis (a.k.a. “Immortal Hair” or “Caustic Symmetry” at ImmortalHair.org ) and I have a relationship that goes way, way back. That guy is the most impressive guy I’ve ever met –he is absolute tops in everything that is orthomolecular! He is going to be my “partner” with articles for this site, WorldHairLoss.org, and the future Revolutionary Anti-Aging site!

Second, Dr. Charles Maricle is absolutely invaluable to me. He is the owner of AiXiZ.com, my diode supplier, and a friend now –but he’s much more than that! He is one of the TOP AUTHORITIES on all-things-laser-therapy in the WORLD. If there is anything going on about laser therapy, chances are that if he isn’t directly involved in it somehow, he knows about it. We are talking about everything from laser therapy after Chemotherapy to laser therapy for TOENAIL FUNGUS –and everything in between! Oh, he designed the $40,000 Sunetics G, by the way (and I use the exact same diodes –but you probably know that already!). So, if you ask me a question and I don’t know it, I ask HIM!

To add a third, there is John Steele, who developed the PulseDrive exclusively for my helmet –which is a very BIG DEAL! You can’t pulse a tremendous amount of diodes at an uber-high rate without a lot of new components and innovation, and he DID IT! He is continuing to innovate, too!

So, that’s who I am, and those are some of my friends and colleagues! Many of you already know this from my past as a prolific forum poster. I graciously “bowed out” of most forums, though -I felt it was the ethical thing to do since I actually MAKE the devices now! I have my WorldHairLoss.org forum, though, and that will re-open at some point in the near future.

Many people wonder why I haven’t been more visible online over the past few years –and let me assure you that I have a VERY ACTIVE EMAIL LIFE!!! I happily spend hours a day sometimes answering each and every one of them! So, I unfortunately had a few bad health issues that kept me from doing the site work I intended to earlier. I had a near-fatal pancreas attack that hit me completely out of the blue, and that took nearly a year to recover, and then, when I started getting back on track, I had a BIZARRE reaction to Western Red Cedar sawdust that seriously kept me sick for a year! It’s crazy –you should google that. It eventually wiped out my immune system, and only about 50% of the people that get this ever recover –and I, thankfully, am in the 50% that DID recover!!! So, anyway, I’m “back at it”, and you’ll see the fruits of my labor soon enough! :)

To end this, I WANT TO GET YOU THINKING! I want to leave you with this: Human beings weren’t meant to stay indoors most of the day. Look at me… the most time I usually spend outdoors is walking to and from MY CAR! You might be the same! Yes, the sun is damaging -no one is saying to go out and succumb to those terrible UV rays that make up about 7% of the sun’s emitted energy (but punch WAY above their weight in damage!). …but the sun also emits light in the red/near infrared spectrum. Light that has PROVEN to be beneficial to humans (and look at people’s plummeting vitamin D levels, by the way!). While we aren’t PLANTS, we need that light to function at full capacity!

I maintain that if, since BIRTH, we led lives that were more in the sun (but properly covered, of course –the red/infrared energy will get through clothes)…
1) …our HAIR would be better –WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF HAIR?? It’s to keep you warm, but it’s also to BLOCK the sun’s harmful rays! Possibly to help attract a mate as well, but I'll save that for the "Other" section!
2) …and our overall health would be better! Again, findings are showing more and more that moderate sunlight helps many issues (including DEPRESSION, which, let's face it... the lack of sabre-tooth tigers around every boulder is causing our brains to change here!).

Here is how LLLT comes into play: Lasers in the red/near-infrared spectrum (with their LONG, non-damaging waves at low levels) are essentially the “concentrated form” of the beneficial spectrum from the sun. Simply put, laser therapy works by stimulating mitochondria. That stimulated mitochondria is able to produce more ATP –which is essentially “cell food”. Cells are able to function better. VERY simply put, the tissue exposed to is able to “do its job” better. The tissue is able to produce more S.O.D. and N.O. to reduce inflammation, combating the effect of destructive androgens. Hair follicles are able to produce hair better, tissue is able to heal itself better, and the list goes on.

There are lots of “studies” that you often see that talk about how nutrition was much better decades ago --and I often see findings cited from a study about pre-WWII Japan vs. Post-WWII, more industrialized Japan which basically states that as soon as the culture moved away from local farming to working in factories (and I’m obviously simplifying here, but bear with me!), their health got worse and their incidences of hair loss grew astronomically. Nutrition and health are OBVIOUSLY IMPORTANT –and modern food (and some modern medicine) can be terrible for you (and your hair). That's were the focus inevitably goes in discussions --they adopted a more "Western diet", and that's the root cause of the decline of hair and health.

…but I maintain that focus ALSO should be placed on today's lifestyle with LESS EXPOSURE TO THAT BIG, GLOWING ORB IN THE SKY CALLED THE SUN!!! Like I said... what's hair for?? A big part of hair is to block that bright sun on your head! When you've taken away that exposure, why would you be expected to keep it perfectly intact? Those post-WWII Japanese were no longer toiling in the fields... they were toiling in a FACTORY! ...or, basically, just lead more modern lives that were INSIDE --not outside.

You need to eat right, get proper nutrition –and get back that energy that we are collectively missing!
